A Growing Fleet
As the brothers' workload grew in 1950, so did their fleet. What began with a D4 Cat bulldozer, a small loader, two dump trucks, a pickup, and compressors soon expanded to include a D6, more loaders, a new Gradall, a small roller, and additional trucks.
Taking On Bigger Work
With this upgraded equipment, they took on larger paving, grading, and demolition projects — most notably the demolition of the aging San Rafael Courthouse, a clear sign of their growing capability and confidence.
Progress and Loss
Their equipment, experience, and reputation continued to rise as their work spread across Bay Area counties. But this period of progress was marked by sadness as well. Shortly after retiring from the work he loved, James passed away.
Built on Purpose
Though James didn't witness the full scope of his 
sons' success, his influence endured. His commitment to hard work, community, and family stayed at the heart of the company.
As the brothers accepted greater responsibilities and expanded their reach, they did so guided by the principles their father had instilled — building not just projects, but purpose.
