OPERATIONS

GCC has a two-part operational structure. One operating department specializes in heavy construction and public works projects. The other operating department specializes in commercial and private construction. Both departments operate under the leadership of Brian Ongaro, Senior Vice President of Operations. Estimating

After GCC receives initial plan documents they go directly into our Estimating Department, where we begin the analysis process. The first step is to prepare a digitized earthwork and material takeoff of all quantities utilizing a state of the art takeoff program by AGTEK™. This not only assures that quantities are accurate but helps prevent surprises later on down the line. Many times this service is provided for an owner early in the planning stages when cost savings recommendations can be incorporated into the project before plans become finalized.

Once the takeoffs are completed and quantities are verified the project is then assigned to the Estimating Team. This team employs another state of the art tool: the SharpeSoft™ estimating system. This allows Ghilotti Construction Company to provide you, the client, with the best possible, and most accurate, price.

Engineering

After pricing, the project moves over to a Project Manager who, working with the Estimating Team, produces a computer generated schedule that is used during the project bid and throughout the life of the project. Utilizing industry standard software these schedules can quickly be incorporated into the owner's own schedules and updated as necessary during completion of the project.

Equipment

While Ghilotti Construction Company utilizes state of the art technology in all steps leading up to the execution of a contract; it is in the field where our commitment to state of the art technology really shines. This is accomplished by equipping our modern fleet of equipment with the latest in sonar and laser technology. Our recent adoption of our Globe Positioning System (GPS) technology allows GCC to maintain accurate control of grades while performing our work, as well as expediting all aspects of our work. Our commitment to utilize the best equipment available returns dividends not only in providing extreme accuracy but also in speed of production, which saves you time and money.

Safety

Ghilotti Construction Company’s primary goal is to ensure all aspects of its operation are conducted in the safest manner possible to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all our employees, and persons not employed by this company who may be affected by our activities.

Our Safety program is established in accordance with all regulations as they pertain to our industry, which are set forth in Federal, State, and Local Standards. The program is monitored and reviewed on a regular basis by Management and the members of the company Safety Committee.
